Paypal Question

Sold something on ebay yesterday, and when the buyer sent me money through paypal. I got this message.

As part of our ongoing effort to make PayPal an even safer place for you and your customers to do business, this payment will be on hold for 21 days until we're sure that your customer is satisfied with their purchase. We do this to ensure you have money in your account in the event your customer asks for a refund. If you ship immediately, the hold may be lifted sooner.

Does anyone know how to get around this?

This is the biggest reason I left eBay, because you get the money when they leave positive feedback, so if they leave a negative, they could keep the item AND the money. :down:

Brutal. It makes no sense at all. Why would i send a 600 dollar mask without getting the money first, to a guy i don't even know? Ties my head in knots. I asked the buyer if he'd retract the money he sent me, and resend it without using ebay. Hope it works.

if you have under 100 feedback they will hold all payments you receive that are over $100. good news is you don't have to wait for positive feedback. if you shipped it with tracking send paypal an email when it's delivered and tell them it was delivered. make them look. 9 times out of 10 they will release the funds.

hopefully you can just refund the cash and have him send a money order.

That never happens to me and I sell on ebay alot...When did they start doing this?

If you have under 100 feedback, I think they do it to you.
