It completely captured the tone of Barker's story and framed it perfectly on the big screen.Phillip Glass' repetitive, minimalist "Candyman" score accurately represented the exercise in futility of trying to escape him.Wendy Carlos' score to "Clockwork Orange" was classic Kubrick, being mostly baroque/classical era Moog transcriptions. Very creepy and mechanical. Just a joy to listen to."Phantasm!!!" You just mentioned a favorite of mine. This score was a perfect accompaniment to the weirdness that Don Coscarelli brought to the screen. Malcolm Seagrave and Kate Coscarelli also had a vinyl hit with the disco version of the creepy theme. Best DVD ever released. My favorite horror score of all time has to be the 1968 "Night of the Living Dead" soundtrack. Listening to this music is one of my earliest memories from the early '70s. I remember my dad playing the LP in the dark just to creep me out (and it worked). What a great thread! Thanks, Darko!
