I definately agree, it looks bunk, they sure have some creative geniuses working on movies these days. what a dissapointment, it looks like they went through all the jvf masks they had lying around and went with that. im pretty sure this movie is gonna be just as AWESOME as jason vs freddy........oh brother.

It's not a terrible look though. At least it's simple and works. Nice vibe.I just think crash or the other good hockey mask painters here could bury it in a heart beat.This thing has like two colors in the weathering. So my final opinion..I don't dislike it. At all...then again, I'm not going to give all this praise to something that doesn't deserve it and anyone an eye for hockey masks should agree for the most part. I mean how much can you REALLY do with a blank Jason hockey mask. It's not like some sort of test that every pro artist needs to master LOL. I'm more impressed by sculpture than I am with knocking out a krylon paint job on a hockey mask LOLAlso, am I seeing things, or does the casting look like another recast like Vs. A lot of detail seems lost.

sadly that mask VS. writen all over it <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":confused:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> . personally i think they should've kept the look of the mask a secret and not even show jason in the trailers except for shadows to keep the hype up but that's just me . so far the film looks "ok" but i think it would look best with an old style camera to be used kinda like how Zombie shot devils rejects to give it that classic feel to it . but yeah i wish the mask would've looked more like part 4 or something but i'm still looking forward to seeing how the full jason looks mike,p.s. they should've got Savini to do the spfx

The sign, I enjoyed.This, I abhor. What an insult. They had numerous routes to take regarding original mask molds...and they chose not to use a damn one of them. Probably just to give some random FX guy a shot to sculpt his own new version.And before you say "But Ryan...", the tris don't account for ANYTHING! FvsJ used tris on the mask, as well, and even used a mold with lineage to the original design to produce it. I don't love it and I don't exactly hate it. It could have been worse, they could have totally altered it and have it not look like the original at all. I just don't really like that paint job. To me it looks like someone who has never painted before went and bought a blank mask with the intentions to paint a VS mask. The out come being just an amateur messy inaccurate VS mask.

Why does everyone want the same, exact mask we've already seen? I'm not saying what they came up with is mindblowing or anything but whats the point of doing something again if you do it the exact same way?......Watch the PSYCHO remake if you wanna get my point. The thing i dont like is the Paint job. It could/should be better i think, i feel like im looking at some cheapo Hockey Mask on ebay by some guy trying to get crap lot of money for it.......J

Wow, what a great Friday the 13th wake up call to receive. If the Producers/Writers/Director/FX were saying that they were “thinking of the diehard Friday the 13th fan” like I kept hearing then they obviously missed the boat with making the mask worn/weathered looking. They better have a good reason for it looking like it does. I’m indifferent to how the masks looks shape wise…I see classic ‘Friday’ mixed in with a ‘don’t compare me all the way with what you’ve seen before.’ I’m really not fond of re-makes and I didn’t like the re-make of ‘Texas Chainsaw.’ That movie was made for an entirely different generation of fans and I really hope after the first effort he gave to re-making movies he gets it right with the ‘Friday the 13th’ re-make. Here’s to hoping 2nd times a charm.
