Remake Jason Hockey Mask

well. let me go ahead and move in with Larry(please let me live in the collection room!!!) and say that i like the hockey mask. In my eyes, its not a remake, it a redux/reimagining, just like the movies Larry has already mentioned. ALl the previous styles and whatnot or great, but they have already been done. I don't remember all this complaining with the Jason X Hockey Mask with it's triangle pig nose. I cannot believe people are automatically saying the movie is gonna suck just because they don't like the Hockey Mask. You sound just like those people out there that are thinking "why are they making another jason film?". They assume jason and suck...you assume bad Hockey Mask and suck....At the end of the day, I am just very grateful that another F13 is getting made theatrically and that I am going to be able to see it in the theaters instead of direct to DVD....take care,Tommy

Extremely well said Tommy....and not just because you agreed with me...lol.....Like you I'm grateful to have a chance to catch Jason in action on the big screen again. Another chance to relive those glorious 80's....hopefully anyways. To me way, way too many people are too quick to find fault with modern films when that same degree of scrutiny would show the same flaws in our beloved originals....face it folks............................Larry

Not super keen on the shape,but the grime is spot on.If you put the average teenager in a movie theater to watch the old part 3 and then something like VS all they see is a hockey mask.The people who made the mask know this as only 2-4% of the people who see the movie are super fans.The rest couldnt tell between this and a 5 dollar glow in the dark mask you buy at the halloween shops.

The main question is, is this mask screen accurate? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":biggrin:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> It doesn't have to be the same, but at least make it a lot different then instead of what looks like some cheap knock-off from another part. We can debate the machete as soon as it is released. This what companies get to releasing stuff early.

I'm not completely disapointed with the mask...maybe because I wasn't expecting anything mind-blowing. Here are my thoughts on the whole thing, for those of you who care to read:The very fact that they are trying to re-create something already sets the tone for the entire project. The "original" hockey mask had no pre-cursor. It was bad ass because it was the first time anyone had ever seen it. No one spent all this time crafting a hockey mask to look scary. They said "Damn, that looks pretty cool" and went with it. You can never re-capture that. Just go back and look at that video of them filming this new movie. That house they were running around looked distressed in a very Hollywood way. Not in a real way like what we saw in the original films where the locations were pretty much as is. Everything on these new films are carefully manufactured to look a certain way...from the set, to the dirt stains on the clothing, to the fake sweat on the Abercrombie models. So why would the mask be any different? They put so much "thought" into everything, they left no room for allowing a character of it's own to develop. I was impressed by the Crystal Lake sign, but everything else was just as I expected...hyper-stylized. It's not that it's horrible to do that - FvsJ was the same way and I enjoyed it...it just wasn't the Jason I know and love....and more importantly, grew up on.That said, I'll still be first in line to see it...damn, sometimes it's hard being a rabid fan <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />

I'll also have to rearrange my F13 wall to make room for another Hockey Mask and undermask (assuming we get to see Jason unmasked).
