Hellboy 2

We screened Hellboy 2 at the theater I manage last night and I must say I was very disappointed. The action was good and the creatures were cool-looking but the story was a bit contrived and very formulaic. The script was pretty choppy, too. The dialog was funny at times but stupid at others. I love the comics and I loved the first movie but I just couldn't get into this one. Out of the ten people that watched it with me only two actually liked the movie, the rest hated it. I would give it 4 out of 10 stars.Anyone else see it yet?

I'm a HUGE Hellboy fan, and the second I saw the trailer I knew it would be dissapointing. The first film was awesome because for the most part, the villains were more human. (with the exception of the double-jointed monsters)Hellboy 2 just seems like they had a huge buget and took advantage of it. Way too much CGI and a lot of monsters, which in my opinion, looked WAY too much like the ones in Pan's Labrynth. This new one just doesn't seem like it matches up the first at all.

Hellboy to me is like a pizza.If it is not that good I will still enjoy it.The first one rocked and Ron Perlman was born to play the red guy.

I totally agree with Pugz. The monsters and the film seem to have a serious Pan's Labrynth feel to it.

Yeah i saw it the other day. I did not like the first one that much, and this one was just stale to me. Not really that enjoyable, no where near as much as the caliber of films that have been put out and will be put out this year. come on Dark Knight!!

I loved it. Really dug it more than the first one.I, too, was worried about the multiple "Pan's Labyrinth"-type monsters - but overall, I think the direction/story pacing and comedic sides well compensated.However....too many loose ends means = 'nother sequel!

I liked it a lot. The visuals were so incredible that it totally outweighed the cheesy spots for me.
