The thing, I am Legend, the Hitcher, the hills have eyes was just bad (With all the beautiful words in the English language, I had to go and use a bad one!) compared to the orignal, I'm not saying the Remake of Halloween is better AT ALL but Rob Zombie did an excellent job! a+ on that one, and I'm sorry but the orignal Friday the 13th is still one of my all time faves!the remake was good though, and again the Remake of Dawn of the Dead doesn't even come close to George A. Romero's take, Romero is the GOD of Zombie films!! hey.......You asked <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />

I forgot all about I Am Legend, put that on there, and The Day The Earth Stood still (I will probably catch sh*t for that).

Films I like the remake better:- Halloween.- Dawn of the Dead. And if you did read my introduction on my website (news section), you will see that I LOVE the opening. This movie just has more speed to it.- Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Super cool movie. The original just does not it anymore. It was something totally new and disturbing back then, but nowadays I have to scip over all the boring and distorted scenes.- F13 was not a real remake if you ask me. But If I would have to choose between part 1-4 original and remake, I would take the remake. Even with all those Evercrombie&Fitch-stereo-type-guys they bring up since a few years now. Well,.. or not? (Dern, I done gone and growed another head), it`s a hard choice. It`s just not a fair relation as, as said it`s not a real remake, more a twist of sequel and new interpretation in a different timeline.Films that hopefully will never have a remake done as they are ageless:- The Exorcist- Jaws- The Terminator- PoltergeistFilms I`m looking forward to a remake with good hope (however the originals are OK too):- Nightmare on Elm Street. Would be cool to see Freddy in a technical better light. Just not in dark scenes only. Oh, and more about his background and his past - not the burnt Freddy from the beginning.- Piranhas. Just the opening could have been better.. this stupid stop motion puppet in that control room.. crap)

I totally agree with the TS on the 76 King Kong. I love that movie and I almost like it more than the Peter Jackson remake, which was also very good.Another one that comes to mind is Invasion from Mars. That remake was awesome. I also liked the Last House on the Left remake.

I forgot about I Am Legend as well....About 2 weeks ago, I watched "The Omega Man". Wasn't terrible, but definately doesn't hold up nowadays. There was that silly early 70's music, lots (and I mean lots) of movie blunders such as seeing the film crew in the mirrors and windows throughout the film. Charlton Heston was cool, but overall the movie was a bit silly watching it now. Maybe back in 1970/71 whenever it was creepy, compare it to I Am Legend, doesn't match up too well. One thing I will say about I Am Legend is that I didn't care at all for the CGI of the infected. I'd MUCH rather of seen people in make up/costumes than what they did. They almost looked like cartoon characters at times.

LOL...you guys are killin' me. The TCM remake was a phenomenal film, no doubt. As a diehard TCM fan, I loved it. But to say it topped the original....?...no way, no how. Not in any way shape or form. The original was the closest thing to capturing a nightmare on film. As for NOTLD, the Romero b&w is THE best zombie film ever, bar none.........Larry
