I hear people moaning and groaning about him playing Freddy, but why? He's not a bad actor, and he certainly seems the right body type and has the right face?This also could just be a rumor based off that interview. I don't believe New Line has confirmed it, have they?Either way, I'm excited for a new Freddy movie. I always thought Freddy needed the dark feel that our movies of today has. I thought VS was great (Freddy wise, Jason wise, it was just horrible), so the dark theme should go well.I never loved anything past Part 2 so I'm sure this will live up to my expectations hehe.

Honestly, I can see Billy Bob playing Freddy, I think he'll do a great job as long as he can get rid of the southern accent.

personally i would've gone with Paul Soter . he has the closest look to " Robert England " as you can get without using Robert . i'm not all that crazy about Billy Bob at all and don't think he could bring this character to life . if they are going to ruin it then they might as well cast pee wee herman to play hm <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"<_<\" border=\"0\" alt=\"dry.gif\" /> . seeing billy bob play freddy ..... no wonder the parents torched him lol mike,

Personally I would like to see Willem Dafoe as Freddy. Check him out in his make-up in "Shadow of The Vampire". He's really sinister looking. Plus he's a good actor too.
