Looks average compared to Bohr's Hatchet man!Hatchet was the most overrated horror film of 2006. I think it won best horror picture at the C.R.A.P. awards! They only thing this stinker had going for it was the gore effects.

I may have to give it a second viewing. All I remember is Victor(Hodder) jumping out of the scrub at cartoonish speed screaming “roarrrrrrrr”. It just seemed to me that those concerned got lazy and decided to steal / use all the gags the got cut from prievious Friday the 13th films. Also to be fare, Bohr Burnt Hatchet was around the US$400.00 mark. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

That is a beautiful mask, but well....you just cannot get one that easily without selling a kidney, and while the new one is not as detailed, it at least is available, and really does not look bad at all.And it can always be repainted if need be.The movie was meant to be a kind of parody in a way, so i never took it seriously in the first place.I watched it for the kill scenes and to see Hodder in action.Crowley however was badass, and it is cool that someone has finally given everybody a chance to have this mask. And the shoulder and back addition to the deluxe version is sweet as hell.

yea, the movie was goofy but i think it was trying to be, like all the 80's bad acting, funny, gorefest's. i'm pretty sure that everything that people don't like about hatchet was on purpose and people overlook that it probably was alot of work to get the movie like that. i also have the bohr version of this mask and i paid........get ready because i not only sold a kidney, i sold my soul.......$500. to me worth every penny, he did an awesome job. mine has the longer hair than in the pic above.here the pic on photobucket.http://s435.photobucket.com/albums/qq72/evilsmellyclown/

I like this new version better than bohrs. Looks more like how the mask would look if pulled from original movie appliances.

I really wanted to like this movie but...ugggk.The character for ‘Hatchet’ was ok, at best. The appliances looked so outta place and extremely fake. The movie had absolutely the worst acting and one of the most pathetic endings ever to any movie. It’s like they said, ok moneys’ gone and let’s end it here. I believe Anchor Bay came up with the entire marketing of this movie…the whole “Old School Horror” crapola. With the acting, FX and everything else, they were just trying to basically throw it back into the 80’s for marketing purposes. But still, this film (Hatchet) had a budget better than or equal to some movies of today. The ‘slasher’ movies of the 80’s didn’t try to have bad acting or no money for FX. Some of the slasher movies unfortunately didn’t have any budget and they worked with what they had, and still for the most part, came away with movies that looked remarkably well made. For this film, they tried to emulate the 80’s saying this is what the 80’s looked like…well, that’s an insult to an era of slasher films of the 80’s because they never looked THIS bad or acted this bad. Sure, years later we can needle prick every 1980’s slasher to death, but at the time of the 80’s, those were cutting edge and kids flocked to them. This movie is cheep garbage and should have been shot on a video camera and then, maybe with absolutely NO budget, I’d give it the respect it deserves.
