I know Tommy always gets a kick out of this.... <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> I'm a Technical Services Technologist for a medical device company that manufactures diagnostic reagents that test various blood analytes/electrolytes. Example... if your doctor ordered blood work they would draw your blood and send it to the lab to be tested. The lab generally uses automated instruments on which your serum/plasma is mixed with reagents that, in the end, gives a concentration of iron, cholesterol, glucose, calcium, etc. These results are used to diagnose and treat different 'conditions'.In technical services we troubleshoot with customers who are having issues using our products. I do more lab investigations regarding these issues as well as value assignment of our controls and calibrators.I always say.... basically, I'm a lab geek! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />

I am an ER Tech... Run EKG's on people, Blood work, help cast patients, wrestle drunk idiots, take people "down stairs" when their time is up. I guarantee you won't find a job with better stories to tell people until you work in an ER. I am also in school and was planning on going toward a degree in economics, but have been in the medical field for 4 years, so I am thinking I will just suck it up and continue in that direction.
