Also.. Brad Fuller updated his blog today:"I can promise you this- every single person from the execs at New Line to the PA's care very passionately about Nightmare on Elm Street. While we often get assaulted for simply doing this for the money, I can assure you there are easier films to make with less downside and far less scrutiny. But I come to this incredibly optimistic. Sam Bayer continues to impress me everyday with his passion for telling this story in a visual style that will blow you away. Our script gets better all the time, and things that were discussed and hated here are no longer a part of the story. I am happy to report that pod casting is gone. But part of that script evolution is due to the level of actors we have attracted. From Jackie, to Thomas, Kyle, Rooney, Kellen, Katie to Clancy we have held the highest standards to bring you the best actors. And they are all huge fans."

Is the advertisement-like Guitar Hero scene I've heard about gone too? I just don't like to see so many "hip" things added in that will date the movie severely in 10-15 years. This is sounding much better than when the first pieces of news started rolling in. I'm becoming a bit more optimistic, especially with the presence of Jackie and Clancy.

I understand your point... don't include anything that will date the film. The original has nothing that truly dates it except for the clothes, cars, television sizes, "boom-boxes" & cassette tapes. I wouldn't mind though if they did away with the Guitar Hero scene and replaced it with a pool table/ping pong table or something like that.

Clancy Brown is a pretty cool actor. He's got that deep voice... He was cool in Pet Sematary 2. This will be his second time acting with a "John Connor".

Hmm the names of all these actors mean nothing to me, even the guy playing Freddy. And from the photos I'm not too thrilled but I will wait to see the finished film. I think this movie is not going to be able to portray the creepiness of the original. This guitar hero scene doesnt sound too good, I dont think they should use that. I'm glad that the people behind this film seem very passionate about it so fingers crossed it turns out to be decent.

The actors they have chosen are very good actors. I've seen films that they've been in and they really do a good job in their roles. I haven't seen Rooney Mara before but everyone else is very capable. Especially Jackie Earle Haley. He really excels at playing darker roles. I honestly believe that they will do a very good job with the film. Reading the script, there are many things that I can just picture in my mind that are very cool ideas and send chills up my spine. The way Freddy licks the cheek of one of his victims while whispering in her ear is just creepy... knowing the man loves to molest children. The concept of micronapping where dreams and reality keep flickering back and forth seamlessly. The scene where we see Freddy get burned alive and he charges at Quentin in his dream and falls on top of him as he screams in pain as his face burns. There are a lot of positives about the script and it will only get better as they tweak stuff and remove/add things as it progresses. The talent of the actors they have will make a huge difference in the film.

just my opinion: i am still not exited about that they are making the remake. so i actually really don't care what actors/actresses are in it.i am only looking forward to the Freddy Krueger glove/sweater/fedora-design and ofcourse how the Freddy Krueger burned face prosthetics make-up will look like.(i really prefer "the A.N.O.E.S. Classics" <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> )

His teeth are black and rotting. Sounds quite like the original... except the bone being exposed. But I like that idea. Highly doubt it will be a lot of the bone showing, but probably just a bit here and there to show how deep the burns went in places. Maybe a little bit near his eyesocket where there's very little flesh? Sounds realistic to me. Thumbs up so far.You have to admit though... this film will probably be better than the vast majority of the Freddy sequels we had to endure. You can't really get much worse, IMO.
