Since basically disappearing since then I have periodically worked on and off on this sculpt as new references became available. Over the last couple of months, I have really knuckled down on finally completing this sculpt. In that time, I have received a wealth of great reference from Ryan that he used to create his excellent "Party Crasher" mini bust. Also, after contacting Jim Kagel, who is extremely gracious, provided me the most amazing head-on photos of the original Jason sculpt I have ever seen. With this wealth of great info I am confident that I can finally complete this sculpt. I apologize in advance for the poor photo quality.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/overheadcompare1.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/unmaskcompare1.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />And finally, 2 of the Kagel sculpt pics flanking my own sculpt.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/frontcompare3.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />I have learned a great deal about the process the original sculpt went through, and as you can see, these images of the sculpt vary greatly from the images in Grande Illusions, and CLM.Currently, I am not taking orders on this piece, and I cannot make any promises on selling this yet. I am a total neophyte to the process of molding and casting, and dont want to make promises I cannot keep. Once I have successfully cast my first prototype, I will be much more confident to take orders and begin production..... and I should probably mention that I would like to cast this in resin (which may prove difficult, as this is sculpted in roma). Thanks for looking.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndamazing, simply amazing. perfect, you nailed it. im sure this one will be pricey.

Hey everybody! Here are photos from my molding process:<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1873.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1874.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1875.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1876.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />This is my rough little mock up for the casting process. The photos were taken after it was successfully demolded. There was very little damage, the most notable being the left ear.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1813.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />The bust is fully sealed with acrylic spray, and mold release as I apply my print cote.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1821.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /> A nice detail shot of me using an air hose to release any air bubbles, and force in detail.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1831.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /> completed print cote.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1854.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1857.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />A couple of the following layers.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1878.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />The completed silicone mold. As you can see, I had some complications with my clay shim.

<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1927.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Mother mold successfully removed.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1928.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Just before cutting the seam.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1930.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1931.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1932.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1933.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1934.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Needless to say, this was a very somber moment for me. I really hoped that the sculpt would have fared better.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1937.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />After placing a few pieces back together.<img src=\"http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c126/manglermangrum/IMG_1935.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Thankfully, all was not lost. The mold turned out beautifully! I am so relieved to finally be finished with stage of the process. Now, I need to figure out how to safely clean my mold, as clay had very unexpectedly stuck rather tenaciously to the mold.
