No Surprise, Friday the 13th Part 2 BumpedSource:Box Office MojoDecember 10, 2009Platinum Dunes' Brad Fuller has said time and time again Friday the 13th Part 2 is not a greenlit project. And while the August 13, 2010 release was discussed, there was nothing ever official about it. So, when Box Office Mojo reports that the sequel to Friday the 13th now has a release date of "TBD" (which they have), it shouldn't really come as any surprise.Although, Voorhees fans - including myself - were hopeful they'd hit that date.Platinum Dunes isn't a company that rushes their projects along. Look at the first Friday the 13th. It was shot in the first half of '08 and was released in February of this year. If the sequel is greenlit, they might follow the same production model allotting time for test screenings, etc. Also something to consider? If it is going to be shot in 3D, they'll need more time for that as well.

I look forward to it... get to have another movie with Jason hacking up people. Hopefully they do a decent job with it though... usually sequels to remakes aren't that good. (Hills Have Eyes 2)Plus it gives us the 13th Friday the 13th film.

THis IS THE 13th film for crying out loud, I truly hope Mr. Cunningham realizes this too.

Platinum's Friday the 13th was worst than JGTH, JX and PART 5 all put together!

yeah, i wasn't a fan of the remake...still don't own it. I put in the category with the films: Incredible Hulk & AVP-R , love the characters, but the films didn't earn my respect...and i won't pick them up until they're around $3.00If it were up to me, i'd have #13 take place on Camp Crystal Lake and have Jason come back and do his thing at the camp site, a tribute to the old films...a celebration that we made it to #13. The past handful of Friday (Jason) films drifted away from the original Crystal Lake setting ... and i honestly believe now (#13) is the time to bring the film back to it's roots...with KANE as Jason...and NOT A REMAKE.

"it should be something special, not the same recycled garbage." - The whole series is recycled.Sean Cunningham - why does anybody give a Sheep about this guy. He made the first film...that's as far as it goes with him.NO KANE...NO! Kane hodder walks like he's some kind of icon/legend....2,3,4 are the roots..a guy in the woods acting human. If you want roots keep derek.
