WTF?! That was my high school. I knew they used Elk Grove Village High for some interior shots but, I didn't expect to see my old school as the new Springwood high. I couldn't even focus on the rest of the trailer, that just totally broke the third wall for me...or is that fourth wall, whatever.

Just watched it. And honestly, this is one of those conflicted feelings where I still just WANT to hate this remake for even existing in the first place, but the more I see of it, the more I feel like it might be ok enough in its own right. The dream imagery itself looks GREAT and I think despite replicating a lot of cues from the original '84 film, this new and updated interpretation will also have some moments and signature elements to call its own. Still can't decide on Haley's revised look and voice, but the dude has got talent coming out of his arse, so I expect him to sell me on his take on Freddy once I've seen the flick in its entirety.

I haven't been this excited for a remake in quite some time. I enjoy the Friday the 13th remake a lot, but I think this will easily surpass it. And in my opinion, Freddy hasn't looked this good since 1/2. He looks REAL to me, and his voice makes it even better. He doesn't just sound like some sort of monster, he sounds like he's having trouble talking each time he does; very scruffy and almost like he's not able to fully open his mouth when he does so.I also like that they are bringing back a lot of the original scenes. (bathtub, coming out of the wall, etc)I don't think there's any way I will be disappointed by this movie. (Hope I'm not putting my foot in my mouth!)

Honestly, to the people who complain "they're ruining the Nightmare films!", I think the ANOES films have done enough damage on there own since N3."Freddy's voice is too deep." Watch ANOES 1-2 and you'll see how wrong you are."Screw remakes!" What would you rather have, a sequel to Freddy's Dead? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> The problem I've always had with the remakes (F13, Halloween....) is they made the killer into monster rather than just human. These films are about nightmares; Freddy's the only one who shouldn't be "just human"!I'm pumped for this remake, and embrace this new dark version of Freddy.

I'm just too used to Englund and the way he wore the makeup over the years, lol. But the aesthetic they are shooting for with JEH's version is cool. It makes perfect sense in a more realistic slant of what Freddy 'could' truly look like, if you will - yet it also retains a familiar aspect of the original look and feel so as not to betray that completely, since it came first.I've watched the trailer a few more times - it really impresses me more each time I see it. I think this flick might really kick azz. Despite my grumpy reservations on it to an extent, I really do want it to!
