Hi guys. Doing a little research here, and I wanted to get some opinions. Well, I already know the answer lol but I want to see how obvious this is, or if it really takes some really close looking to see. Lets see what you all think. Here are two "possibly" different masks from the REMAKE that I took screenshots of. Note the differences in the triangle marking. However, are these two masks REALLY two different masks, or are they one in the same?? There are markings found on the mask pictured on the bottom that are not found on the top, but look carefully. Let me know....Rich

From what I see, they aren't the same mask. Compare the white marks along with the dark grays.I could be wrong.

oooo I like all the speculation lol this is fun!! There are some who say this is the same mask, there are some who say it's probably not. So it's a toss up right now. Maybe some more information will sway some one way or the other. Ok, I enhanced the photo to the right here and I was able to do a direct one on one comparison with the photo on the left in this montage. Let me know what you think now. Wanted to first show the masks side by side without such an up close comparison, because at first, I didn't know what to think either based on just looking at them side by side (which is why I asked you guys just to "eye ball it" first), and then I was able to decide 100% when I really blew up the photos. Maybe you will too. Let me know. Thanks guys for chiming in on this! I have actually done a quite in depth analysis of all the masks used in the remake, which is how this particular situation came to light. Much appreciated again. ThanksOk, I did a preview, and noticed that the phots are still a little small, so I did "close-ups" of some of the comparisons within the comparisons for viewing. Ok, in this set below, 2nd picture down, you will see something that looks like a set of "fish hooks" to the left. This exact same distressing is viewable in the photo on the right, but with the way the screen still was taken, the image could not be "matched" to the same distance. It is much closer in the photo on the right, but note the shape.Rich

The mask when he finds them watersking(the one on the right) is the same mask seen when he is caught in the grinder at the end of the film. It is also the same mask that you see on the behind the scenes documentary in the case. If you use all three different angles for reference you pretty much have all angles covered. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />Pretty sure its also the same mask covered on the DVD/Blu ray. I'll have to re check but I'm about 100% sure.

This is also the same "version" of the mask that Jason finds at the beggining of the film. Note the marking on the left side of the forehead that looks like an upside down "31". Then, the mask is seen throughout the rest of the film in a less distressed version. It is used in every kill except for Trents on the tow truck. There are only a few shots in the film where a different mask is used. I guess they just shot the film out of order. Pretty neat .Yes. You are exactly right. It's the same mask on the cover of the Blu Ray disk. The interesting thing here, is that the mask no longer exists in the form that most people are copying (with the triangle marking less distressed). I would have thought they might have used a different mask for the wood chipper scene but apparently not. It's just one mask and it is used throughout 99% of the film. It's only not used to pop out of the doc at the end of the film, it's not the mask sinking to the bottom of the lake at the end, it's not the mask used to confront Whitney in both the tunnel (while sharpening his machete) and in the bus towards the end) and it's not the mask used while killing Trent on the tow truck. Otherwise, every other scene in the film is this mask in one form or another. I have a montage I created showing each of the masks. I'll post it if I can find it.

There is something about that remake mask that just puts me in awe. I could look at it/study it more than any other Friday mask. The remake and Vs are hands down my favorite masks. The fx guys did an outstanding job with them! I'm glad someone has looked at the remake mask as much or more as me. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />
