The running theme that I learned about Egypt is the corruption and that "rules" there are more like suggestions and this applies to anything from traffic to police and from street vendors to tourists. That being said, there were signs that clearly stated "do not climb" but as you may have seen, people were climbing them and the abundant amount of tourism police did absolutely nothing. As far as taking pictures in the tombs, we were not allowed (although I may have gotten away with it due to the lax nature of police!) and it is a shame too because I would really love to show you all shots from the Valley of the Kings, where the art is the best preserved. The colors are still so vibrant and just left me awestruck.

To everyone who says it is on their places to go list, I highly recommend it. However I will not be so quick to go back. I loved the sites we saw but I really did not care for Cairo. For me, I think, it was a once in a lifetime trip and I had one of the best times of my life there. Thanks for looking everyone and feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

Indeed. In fact I believe at almost every site we went we saw scaffolding. They're in a state of constant restoration I guess.
