Remember the mystery mask I asked about awhile ago?
I was able to score it from the seller. The owner was a huge TCM collector and he has been selling off his whole collection for the past few months. He has kept this mask for around 10 years sealed in plastic. It arrived today and I understood why he never showed it on display.
The mask has been stayed folded for years and has a severe case of dry rot.
I mean like them dead frogs you see out in the road baked hardened like a pretzel.
Both ear flaps have been signed. Being the dumbass I am, when I took it out of the bag to examine the signature, the mask's right flap started to crumble like a leaf so I cannot make out what it says... The other flap seems to have a sig by Greg Nicoterro, but I am unsure. This flap has been connected on to the cheek incorrectly, or should I say has been fixed back on by one string. It seemed that this was done on purpose proffesionally by a pro in order to show both signatures on one side. :geek:
Greg Nicoterro???
