    Your not gonna gut a saw and have a place to put your hand.....but heres a quick crappy sketch of my idea, and if you made the wood box for your hand small enough you could add all the parts and cut it down to look like the actual saw easy.

    Yeah i guess you could, but i was just out looking at my chainsaw, this would not be as easy as you would think, pluss the case of mine looks to be cast pot-metal, that stuff likes to crack and break when you try to cut it. Im just sayin i could build one out of wood, fill in all the gaps and screw holes with a thin layer of bondo of sno-glass sand and sculpture it to something close to the screen prop, use a dremel to do the details, and it would be lighter than the metal(i think)........give me a few weeks like i said and i will post some progress pics, i might dismantle my saw tonight just to see what i can and can not do.

    yah i already got one the same saw a homelit x-l2 (oh yah canadian chainsaw) i took out the engine tanks etc and left the chainsaw bar mounts and clutch assembly on and riveted and so on and mades some mods to the handle and weathering and yah i got one and ploished aluminum handle with varataned and cedar etc and yah its stil made of an aluminium body i keep the chain on but it only weighs abot 2 pounds Wink
