I\'ve always loved the Evil Dead series, but it seems lately i\'ve been getting really big back into it. And i got to thinking if anyone on the net has ever tried to replicate ash\'s chainsaw arm ..like as a working or nonworking prop...somthing you could carry around as part of a halloween costume, or display. I kinda wanted to try this on my own but i have no f*ckin clue where to start.

    Peace,
    Eric

You could always just buy a chainsaw like used in the film and take off the chain and just construct a sling similar to his? Huh

See i was thinking that, but i cant get any good screen shots of the chiansaw from the flicks.. so i could get an at least half accurate chainsaw...but i suppose if i didn\'t want too buy a brand new one....i guess its time to visit ebay Big Grin .

Your best bet would be to get a very lightweight chainsaw and construct some kind of maybe strong prostetic skin to go over it to make it look like it\'s growing from your skin, hell maybe just life cast your arm and go from there.

I would have to go with what kyle said, that\'s your best bet. Make a lifecast of your arm and attach it from there! Smile

Most bars on chainsaws are held on by just two bolts, easy to remove. For a good non functioning prop i would take the bar off the saw and just build the rest out of wood, make it hollow with a pole/handle running top to bottom or side to side on the inside so you can hold it steady and a round opening at the back to put your arm thru....i\'ll get into paint and do a mock up so yall can see what i\'m sayin.

Yea i was thinking about that too...but instead of the wood part i wanted to buy an old or not working chiansaw and gut it....of coarse iv never disected a chainsaw before, so idk how hard it would be.
