Altering A Cheap Mask

I\'m helping a friend out with his Halloween costume. He\'s going to be a zombie and I\'m converting a mask I found at Wal-Mart. I\'ve cut it apart to use more a prosthetic piece. But now I need to know what kind of paint works best on latex and what would be good to use to give it a wet look? Hopefully something that can be found locally. Btw, it\'s a skull mask.

i could be wrong here but buy acrylic paint and mix it with some liquid latex and for the wet look , i\'d just go with a gloss sealer or a washable gel .
