Well...I\'ve talked about wanting to sculpture and do latex masks for a long time...and finally I talked myself into ordering the supplies. I bought a monster makers full head armature, 20 pounds of ROMA #2 clay, a monster makers tool kit, and the monster makers manual. I know lots of you work on sculpts and I was wondering if anyone can offer this sculpting newb any advice, little pointers, or tell me about anything I might possibly need here in the early stages of mask-making.

    Thanks in advance!
    Cory

If it\'s based on something other than an original design...
    Reference......plenty of it!

Lee Romaire gave me the best advice. He said just use your hands and don\'t worry about rakes and tools yet. You have to practice and study anatomy to get the facial features and everything right. If you don\'t practice you\'ll just end up with a blob of clay.

for a first sculpture just keep it simple, don\'t do freddy or myers or any other famous person, just do somthing origional like a zombie, that way it is your own design and people wont be cretiquing the hell out of it.
