In almost every ANOES movie you can see Freddy\'s unburnt palm on his gloved hand and I\'m just wondering why does the glove have that large hole? All it has led to is bloopers.

well ive noticed that his palm on his left hand goes unburned also. just the nature of logics i suppose, as your palm side of your hand is usually the side thats most sheltered, so it makes sense the top of the hand would have been more/only burned.

yeah, but the question still remains...why cut such a large hole out of the palm area of the glove?

well the palm hole is there to add character to the glove plain and simple, same with the finger holes. You see Wes wanted the original desgn to look like a twisted recreation of a real hand.

so exposing both the fingers and the palm made the glove slightly more organic and natural to the eye rather it being just a plain dirty leather glove, kinda like it was actually growing from his hand.

thats the best answer from my knowledge i can give Smile

the holes in glove i believe are for movement try wearing a solid glove it doesnt move too easy adn the reason theres prob no burns is casue the glove would prob pull off the make up as well asn the way the hands bend in real life it would be hard to get prosthetics to stick espeically back then

also agree with Mike, without that big opening in the center it would be hard as hell to move as smoothly

I\'d say the reason was more for practical purposes. The big hole in the palm of the glove would make it easier to get access to and tighten the rivets from the backplate on the underside of the glove so they wouldn\'t come undone. But I have to say that it DOES make it look more organic and well, cool. Big Grin
