    hey guys,

I don\'t really like bothering you all with stuff like this, but i really do need your help on this one. A guy I work with has been working on a top secret Zombie documentary/spoof. He came to me today asking for help in respect to the practical application of all things zombie makeup. While I know the basic down and dirty make up techniques such as snot rag mache, latex and toilet paper/oatmeal and the like, I really have no clue on the nicer, more professional stuff. He wants to make this film himself and use it to apply to film school or something, and I would really like to help him make it as professsional as possible. This is where you guys come in. Any and all information on practical zombie makeup is what I am looking for. Zombie make up....body parts, edible body parts, realistic decay effects, etc...I hate to say it, but this is gonna be one of those no budget situations...and as most of you know, i am not made of money...so i have to be careful on this one. Absolutely any and all information in regards to this would be greatly, greatly appreciated...technical help, practical help, what to buy and where....substitutions for expensive stuff, etc....

    Thanks guys,
    Tommy

Hey Tommy, If I were you I\'d look into gelatin. Quick and easy to use, can be applied to the skin, or used to cast appliances, heads hands and the like. And can be re-melted when you\'re done and reused. I suggest googling some tutorials on it, or check with the boys at the theeffectslab.
Tom Savini\'s Grand Illusions books would also be a great help if you can pick em up.

Some of the cheap halloween make up kits have some useful things. They can make some very convincing effects if you\'re creative. Cheap halloween masks can be cut up for prosthetics. I think you can make flesh colored gelatin for edible appliances and body parts. Plaster strips could probably come in handy. It\'s like this roll of paper but with plaster on it, that you get wet and work with. You may already know what I\'m taking about, but yeah....good luck.

I am also making an extremely low budget film pm me with some ideas igot some excellent ideas on my effects lots of flavoured red gelatin and then latex flesh coloured over it etc i need a gory hand gag but you may need latex a couple of gallons even just applying liquid latex and stippling w/ a textured sponge etc using cotton batting or cotton balls for buliking up features zombie features like their eyebrow ridge etc

get yourself some sculpey and make some BASIC appliance EX: cuts, rotting skin.. then michaels carrys a cheap form of latex called dipping latex.. you can build up your walls around the sculpts like a box.. so the detail is in the bottom.. put a few ounces of latex in it.. let it dry.. and WALLAH!!!

There are other methods to the make-uping part... im not good with that.. after you make your appliances id get some spirit gum, glue it to whatever body part, then start paiting and blending..

You need to contact Brian D Buckley..hes real good with this stuff.. i do not remember his username.. some one will know..

something like zombie blood lust or somethin

    Good luck T

That\'s what I was gonna say. Grand Illusions I & II are just GENIUS between 2 covers.
