use a pipe and flange bolted to a board for an armature

the money you save NOT buying a 50 dollar armature will buy you 20 lbs more clay.

Since that time, I have settled on using WED clay myself since I can use it indoors without the fumes produced from heating the roma. It wasn\'t pleasant.
