    whats a normal or good price for a facial portrait lets say on the arm casue i went today and the price kinda struck me as odd and i dotn know much aboutthem so anyone with any idea please let me know

    i know its hard ot do a likeness and i figured it cost more than normal but it was still a little high

    well to be honest it all depends on the artist....most artist charge by the hour for custom work.... around where im from the range is 150 a hr.....my advice to you is shop around dont settle for the first artist,go to a few different artist and see there work and prices...you never know depending on the art you want done it might relate to him,and they might do it cheaper(which has been the case for me a few times)

    I called JonL 3 weeks ago saying I was getting a tattoo that weekend. I still haven\'t..what can I say I HATE needles lol I need to sack up and just do it though

    I HAVE A FEW TATTS AND A FREIND OF MINE IS ONE OF THE BEST AND HE CHARGES 125$ AN HOUR....BUT I HAVE HEARD HIM QUOTE PEOPLE 500$ FOR A PORTRAIT...THEY CHARGE THIS MUCH CAUSE THEY CANT ALWAYS GET THEM ACURATE SO THEY THINK YOU WILL JUST PASS....MY BROTHE HAS A INDIANA JONES (HIRRISON FORD ) TATT AND ITS DEAD NUTS ...JUST DEPENDS ON HOW GOOD THE ARTIST IS....

    i was told 850 and it would take around 2 hours...i went here casue they have been known for good work and clean shop i was expecting around 300-500 at most

    $850 is a bit much for two hours of work man. Most decent artists range from $100-$200 an hour for $425 an hour this guy would have to be the snigglesnarm!!!!!! LOL

    Ive got a few now.. id say 3-600$ would be average for a portrait..

    I was gonna say most artists start at around $300 for a portrait. Really depends on the size of the piece.

    Wow, this thread has helped me out. I\'ve been getting lots of requests for portraits and wasn\'t sure what to charge.

    well it would only be 2 inches long and i was expecting around 150 a hour and maybe 3 hours but not being told 2 which seems kinda fast and 850 for that hell i can get Jman and myers for 400 lol
