Im sorry for starting a thread that may possibly start dispute, but it is simply to inform people who have been misled, and as well as to correct people who are mistaken. It was recently released that the triangles on the part 3/4 hockey mask were painted on, and judging from the evidence I have aquired, that is not true. The triangles on the 3/4 mask were made from either some type of tape or sticker material. My main evidence comes from the forehead triangle. As you can see here, there is a slit cut into the center of the triangle. The slit that was made is not simply a scratch. These are two seperate triangle pieces that were cut to form an angled triangle. Just think of it as two cheek triangles, puzzle-pieced together to make the forehead tri. The slit is hard to see, but so far only Crash and myself are the ones who have used it in our hockey masks. Crash, however, has chosed not to use the slit on most of his masks because he is afraid that people wont believe its there, therefor not being happy when they recieve the mask. But hey, I doubt anyone would ever complain about a Hockey Mask painted by Crash, because every single one he has done has been simply amazing. Furthermore, the part 4 hockey mask (as we all know) has the left side of the forehead triangle missing. Most think the it was scratched or scuffed off. This, also, is not true. The second half of the triangle merely fell off. If it was indeed painted on, there would be a lot more paint missing than what you see in this pic due to sanding or scraping off.Being that Ive painted a lot of hockey masks nowadays, I know exactly how to achive that look. Basepaint a mask, than apply the triangles. Then cut the slit into the center of the forehead tri. After that, do all the weathering and detail work to the mask. Once you have finished, simply pull the second half of the triangle off, and it is a nice base color underneath. Here are photos of a mask Ive done this way. Now, back to the subject. If you notice, in these two photos (the first being part 3, the second being part 4) the slit in the center of the part 3 hockey mask matches up PERFECTLY with the slit that is to the far left of the triangle. This was once the center of the full triangle.

And lastly, in this photo, you may notice that the remaining piece of triangle has seemed to fall apart. The pieces have been slit into 3 pieces. Each piece has even moved. The biggest movement was made by the middle piece. Now, call me crazy, but paint cannot MOVE! But a sticker that has been sectioned off can definetly slide in any direction. That is the most solid piece of evidence Ive found. If you remember correctly, there was a lot of rain in Friday the 13th Part 4, so maybe this was the reason that the triangle lost some of its "stickyness". We all know what happens when you get a sticker wet. Oh, and as for the cheek triangles, yea...they fell off as well due to all of the water that had gotten onto the mask. <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" />Im sorry if you actually read this and thought it was a waste of time, but I am really getting tired of seeing false information given out by certain people. I know I still cannot prove that the hockey mask contained stickers, because the only person who knows is probably the one who owns the mask now, which I believe is Dick Warlock.I hope this is enough evidence to conclude that my assumptions are debatable, or even believable. Because honestly, its not rocket science.Thanks..______________________________________

Good luck Scott, you're right, but I got called out for saying the stunt mask in 3, the only mask you see in 4, and the mask you see at the end of 5 are all the same mask. <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Big Grin\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Not to mention, another false fact that has been 'released' is that there were more than one mask used in Part 4... I think it comes down to FX people either not remembering or protecting what is the truth by changing facts for the public.. The proof is in the pics, impossible to argue with that... Either way, good luck buddy.

Haha, thanks Larry. I saw that you were replying, and being that you are usually really whitty when it comes to matters as these, I thought you were gonna bust me right away and prove me wrong, haha. But again, it's just a touchy subject with me when people give out false information and expect people to believe them simply because of their reputation.

puckface : You took the words right out of my mouth as I posted in the other thread. I agree with all of your points about the tri's, you were much more ambituous than me typing it all out though!I think it also pretty clear that the rements of the cheek triangles after they fall off is just dust, dirt and crud stuck to the sticker/glue residue left over. There was no sanding. How you could sand them off without rubbing some paint off the surrounding areas is mindblowing. And you can see how nice and white and fresh the mask was in part 3 under the left side forehead triangle after it fell off in part 4. You know like when you pull a sticker off almost anything plastic thats a couple years old the you notice how discolored the rest of it has become from light exposure and dirt. There is definatley a lot of mis/dis information floating around about the details of the 3/4/5 mask.Think of it this way....would you recall exact details of something you did at your work for 5 minutes, like 20 years ago?
