I won the bid on the master copy and mold for Jeremy Bohr's "Thing" mask.......I just got it today and when I opened the box there were lots of small cracks in the mold, especially around the mouth....will this cause significant damage to the pulls?.....and if so is there anyway to fix it? I'm not sure if it was like this when he shipped it, Becasue also at the bottom of the mold he had a flat plate like spot that you could let it sit on, and it is also broken.......but the pieces of it were in the box....I would guess that it was broken by the shipping company. Pics will be up shortly. Any help will be much aprecciated........Cole

you can mix up some plaster and patch it or just dremmel off the flaws from the cracks in your pulls or just make a new mold off the master.

mster copy i dont know if they mean recasting or not you could make a new mould id ask jehremy for permission ifrstmake a thick latex cast of it and then get rid of the seams and soon fill in any cracks with latex take the latex positive and fill where the cracks werestuff the mask make a clay wall basically a stip of clay halfway on the sides of the mask and make a new plaster copy (make a mould seperator half of a ping pong ball etc so the two mould pieces fit together snug), first brush on the thin plaster for a detail coatthis will give the plaster time to "cream" it will thicken and now you add tons of it and get the desired thickness and then soak loose weave burlap in the plaster and put it on for strengththen let it dry and remove the wall, put a release agent on the plaster wall (clear acryllic paint) the do the same again***this is somewhat recasting when someone can steal your work and make copies, but you are in need of a new mould and then you would have to smash the old one*** very important ask jeremy before you do this some people may be offended and think youre ripping them off - Aaron

That's a beautiful pull man! I think you could probably get some quality pulls from that mold if you're really careful...you might have to do a little dremel work on the pulls though. If you sell blanks or finished copies let me know...I'd really like to work on one of these.
