I'm about a year late, but with a newborn at home I'm lucky to ever catch a whole movie. I just sat (suffered) thru Grindhouse. That was the biggest letdown I've had in years. Read so many great things about it but found Planet Terror a total mess, and not in a good way. Nothing appealed to me at any level in this movie.....plus some crappy CGI effects. And don't get me started on Death Proof. WTF was that??? Damned near two hours of pure female dialogue that was cleary written by Tarantino and not the least bit engaging. I felt sorry for Kurt Russell to have been brought into that snoozefest. Wow........talk about disappointment..............................Larry

Death Proof did indeed suck. It should have been a Lifetime made-for-t.v. movie.

I'd rather sit thru 3 hours of Blue's Clues' with my son than suffer either of those again............CRAP...........LarryI love how in Proof the women talk about "making out" which is clearly a term not used in 25 years but as they mention that they pull out a cell phone and text each other.....STOOPID

I think QT intentionally released his film first on DVD so that most of the sales would go his way. Hoping fans didn't realize the second film was coming out after. I think if the went head to head Planet Terror would have blown him out of the water. With that being the second film I think fans left theaters with a bad taste in their mouths and this caused a bad word of mouth buzz.

I did not mind some parts of Planet Terror. It was a goofy movie with a little too much corn i thought. I hate the CGI gore... come on man, the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on the computer time to make those effects they could have bought a 18 wheeler full of karo syrup and red dye and made a blood bath. Death proof i would rather smash my face in broken glass than watch it all the way through. bad bad movieMatt

Planet Terror was great. You got zombies, gore and over the top kills and cheesy action and even freakin' Tom Savini!

It was stylized to the max. I just saw them recently too. I was moderately entertained.

Forgot to mention.....you know you're in trouble when the trailers were the best thing about Grindhouse...BY FAR. "Thanksgiving" and "Don't" were gems of true horror goodness amongst two piles of dung.............Larry
