you cannot make a mold of a mask that you are not responsible for making. You are stealing the hard work of someone else. It does not matter if its a mass produced mask or an indy mask. It's just not something you do. The vast majority of the time, the only reason people ask this question is because they want to recast someone else's mask.....I don't think that is what you are planning on doing. If it is.....i would think twice and advise against it. The quickest way to become an outcast in this hobby is the recast route. People will not sell masks to you, mask makers will not sell masks to you.....it can get bad really quick.take care,Tommy

BTW....its a no no whether you are selling it or not. If you want another copy of the same mask...then buy another....take care,Tommy

WRONG. So if I took a NIGHTOWL psycho and recasted it for my personal use, that would be fine..HELL NO!Recasting anothers hard work is wrong..simple as that. But if it's your own mask, to cast a one piece copy mold from a mask made from a two piece mold is fine. That mask casting is called a MASTER COPYMake sense?<!--quoteo(post=268913:date=Jul 29 2008, 10:43 PM:name=sirbrad)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(sirbrad @ Jul 29 2008, 10:43 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=268913\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecOnly a no-no if you plan on selling.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEnd

You can make a mold out of anything that has a shape. Hell I saw a dirty jobs episode where they made a fiberglass mold of a dead BULL SHARK to reproduce it as art pieces for walls or offices. Mold making and casting is a HEAVY part of everyday life that most people don't realize. Half the products out there, especially plastic and rubber come from injection molds designed by engineers

But would you agree with that statement still if it was a custom made mask and the maker gave you the mold, for example Composite Effects giving their customer's the mold to their custom made masks.
