Well, it looks like I'll be 'OFFICIALLY' announcing this mask, as, like I figured, there are some people that simply can't keep their mouth's shut, even when they're asked not to say anything.For those that haven't heard yet, Ken Hertlein IS doing a SMALL run of 5 NEW H2 masks. He's using the sculpt from the DW/KH run, and 're-working' it VERY slightly. The sculpt will actually be pretty much the same, save for some 'minor' tweaks here and there. The main difference will be in the 'finishing' work on the mask. All 5 will basically be 'bang-on' to the first 2 masks that Ken did (DW's & Ken's PERSONAL COPY). The hair will be 100% accurrate, both in color and consistency.This was the deal:About 3 months ago, Ken was talking about the fact that he was planning to move soon, and work was slow, etc. I proposed the idea of him doing a very small run of Myers masks, to which he readily agreed. The run had to be small, and not overwhelming for Ken, as he had some projects on the go, and didn't want the stress of dealing with a pile of orders, obviously. So I suggested a run of 5. He loved the idea and said that he'd do it. I was then faced with the task of finding 5 guys who not only were interested, but could afford the price tag, and pay pretty much immediately. Now this should just be common sense, but after hearing what a few guys have pm'ed me saying, I obviously have to stress this point: When faced with finding 5 guys who want 'in' on something like this, who do you go to first? FRIENDS!!!! That's exactly what I did. The last few guys were those who had said to me in the past that if Ken EVER considered doing another run, to keep them in mind. Well, I remembered those guys, and being a man of my word, I went to them and asked if they wanted to be a part of this project. I'm not going to announce who the 5 guys are, as that's not for me to post. If they want to make themselves known, then so be it. Because of all the 'soap opera' bullsh$t that went on with Ken in the past with the DW/KH run, he basically asked me to tell the 5 guys to keep their mouths shut, until the masks were done so that I wouldn't be bombarded with pm after pm, asking me to try to get Ken to do more. Well, as I figured, it didn't matter. Deep down, I knew that it would get out sooner or later. What actually shocks the hell out of me is that now I'm getting the whole 'under-handed' sh%t, etc. thrown at me. Give me a break guys. For those that are actually saying that, please go back up a paragraph and read the part where it says that there were only 5 spots available, not 20 or 30. Anyone who tells me that they wouldn't consider their FRIENDS FIRST with a deal like this is utterly full of sh%t, so don't even go there man.Now the BEST part. As pretty much everyone knows, I'm trying to sell my DW/KH #2 mask, which was Ken's Personal Copy. I recently received a pm from someone that is now unsure about buying this mask, because he's heard through the 'grapevine' that Ken's doing another run of masks, that are apparently 'superior' to the DW/KH run. Apparently I've even seen 'finished' pics of the new KH mask, and I'm trying to 'duck out' of the #2 mask, and make as much $$$ as I can, knowing that I'm getting the NEW version of this piece. There are those out there that apparently know me, and know that I don't need the $$$, and am just doing this to make some extra coin. Pretty interesting rumours there, considering the fact that I haven't seen ANY pics of the mask because it's NOT DONE YET!! It's still in clay form! I'd LOVE to know who these 'kids' are, as they don't know they're ass from their elbow about me or the TRUTH about this project.Now for the REAL story: I DO actually need the funds right now, believe it or not, as I'm paying down some very hefty bills, not to mention saving up for a possible 'Make-Up' gig that will require me to head to the U.S. to work on. I NEVER intended on selling the DW/KH #2 mask. EVER. I'm very good friends with Dick and Cathy Warlock, as well as good friends with Ken. This mask is VERY personal to me. Believe me when I say that I tried to figure out a way of getting some extra cash together WITHOUT having to sell the mask for the last few months. It's only recently that I realized that I'm sort of stuck, and need to sell something worth a few bucks in order to get the $$$ I really need right now. I've talked to Ken about it, as he wanted to know if I ever considered selling the mask, to get a hold of him first. He's totally cool with it, and UNDERSTANDS the reasons for having to part with it.The simple fact is this: The new KH mask will NOT bring down the value of the original DW/KH run. In fact, I think it will INCREASE the value, as those masks are from the ORIGINAL RUN!! You can never take that fact away. And of course, the #2 mask I have will DEFINETELY go UP in value, not down. It's second only to Dick's #1 mask. BOTH were painted side by side, using Dick's HERO for reference. Dick's #1 mask will NEVER see the light of day, as it's going to one of his kids down the road. This was the Artists PERSONAL copy man! It doesn't get any better than this. The sheer fact that I posted a thread last week saying that I would take 4k + a DW/KH mask from the ORIGINAL RUN just PROVES that I'm not selling this guy to make as much $$$ as I can, before the new one arrives. Come on man! Why would I cut my price down then? If I didn't need the $$$, I can assure you that I wouldn't be selling this guy now, when the economy has gone for a sh#t. My reasons have already been stated for having to sell this piece right now. So for those who 'think' they know what's going on, please feel free to pm me and get the info right from the source. If anyone hears other people trying to tell them what's going on, again, pm ME and ask ME what's happening, instead of believing someone who most likely doesn't even know me. Give me some credit here guys. I've NEVER done anything back-handed to ANYONE here. That's NOT who I am, and my TRUE friends can vouch for me on that one.With that said, I now have to go soak my arthritic fingers in some salted hot water.-A
