The part 8 mask has always been my biggest weakness. cant find the right shade of yellow, cant find the right wheathering colour, etc but after painting 5 part 8's in a row last week, I have finally painted one that I am completely happy with (I have the proper straps and buckles but have not put them on yet) From looking at every screen cap I could find and pauseing the movie hundreds of times I think I have found a good recipie of colors. I think I even nailed the green at the bottom of the mask. Please, please, give your honest opinions, Thanks. OOPS!!! My bad. wrong picture.........But you know what ? I think It would be a crime to replace that pic with a pic of a hockey mask so I will just leave it, lol. (The blonde is my always off and on girlfriend and mother of my son) .

I think it looks great, I don't think anyone could really complain if they received this mask. The only things I would comment on really, and this would be nit picking, but since you asked for comments and I'm a firm believer of constructive criticism. The overall shape of the mask is a bit off obviously, the eyes and nose etc, but nothing major. The overall yellow color is maybe a bit too yellow, could possible be the lighting as well. However I have seen many people paint it an over exaggerated yellow because some people want that "what you see on your tv" look. Also maybe next time go for a darker under color of black or grey, but I think how you did it looks just fine. But honestly those crits would be nit picking, I think it looks really great. No comments as far as the wear goes, I think it all looks well done.

Hey Jamie, i would say constructively to work on the shape too, the mask sides and the eye shape, as for the colour i used to really struggle over my part 8's too, one thing i found was that to try and get a colour that matches it perfectly is difficult, i work on a really light base and build it up until it looks right. The grey looks good but it's under the yellow so try rubbing off the yellow in places once it's dry and then putting the grey on and highlighting the edges to make it look like it's been worn down to the base coat.Maybe the vent holes could be a tad smaller, masks the mask look bigger too <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />Hope that helps <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"B)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" />

i think it looks fine Jamie . here's how i paint mine up since i already have black hockey masks it helps for the little scratches and stuff 1) i use a grey primer first 2) then base coat it with an almond color 3) i then do 2 washes of yellow , 1 wash of brown to darken it just a tad , then another yellow or 2 4) paint tri's 5) use a very very light spray of black over the Hockey Mask 6) use my dremel for the scratches where needed . this is why i said that using a black Hockey Mask helps as you don't have to use paint to make them stand out in black 7) i then get some soft sand paper and rub in the areas that show the grey showing through . i start going in a motion of towards the outside of the mask same way you would clean a CD . and then would switch to a circular motion basicly just putting my thumb on the sand paper and turning it while pressing down around where the strap connectors will go . now i know most people wouldn't even think twice about my method but i think it works out fine for me so if you'd like to give it a try sometime Jamie , go for it and see how you like it . again i do like your mask but it's the deep yellow and dark red tri's that throw me off from it
