well, i screwed up. i got this hok from a member here on NIGHTOWL and i wanted to make it look better (how i thought i could improve on a CRASH mask, i don't know), so i went downstairs and put the dremel to it. i don't know what i was thinking, but i should have left this awesome mask alone. it is a ultimate pt 7 by CRASH (or was). oh well we all have to live with our mistakes. it isn't ruined IMO but it sure doesn't look better. maybe i can send it to CRASH to repaint after the season. first pics are before. remember kids, don't drink and dremel, you will only end up hurting yourself. LOL. I SUCK! i apologize to CRASH for scewing up one of his many master pieces, sometimes i act before i think. i really have no excuse for my actions. i will tell you this though, never again. if any of our hok masters on the boards has any suggestions how i can maybe make this look better please feel free to help me. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! CRASH if you read this PM me and let me know what you can do for me. i am at you mercy. if you want no part of this situation i understand. of course i mean after halloween.mike

ouch.. I don't know enough about painting hockey masks, but you might be able to wash out the color a bit on the scoring marks to make them more subdued..That took a lot of balls though.. I dunno' if I'd try to "improve" a Crash mask, especially not an ultimate. I've always been impressed by his paintups, there's no way I'd figure I could improve on it. Maybe with markings that I could rub away or seal, depending upon how they came out, but I figure he's been at this awhile, and studies the crap outta' these masks. Most of the Hockey Mask artists I've talked to, tell me that they learn new things about what they're doing with every Hockey Mask they make. Details they hadn't noticed, or paint mixes that work better, etc. With the amount of 7's under Crash's belt, I think he's pretty much got it figured out. SO.. Kudos for taking the plunge and learning something, and ouch for not increasing it's personal value.Get yourself a blank and mess with it? Gotta' start somewhere. They're out there, and not nearly as pricey.Honestly? if you'd posted this and I didn't know what it used to be, I'd say it was a pretty decent job on it's own for a first Hockey Mask or whatever.

Doesn't really look TOO bad. I think you just need to tone down the paint in the newly dremeled sections to make it match the rest of the mask more. Try going over those areas with washes of cream and light brown.

Did you clear coat it after you did this? If not you maybe able to wash it off with hot water.

Don't beat yourself down mike, we all make mistakes my friend.I don't think it looks to bad to be honest, but if you're not happy with it I know Crash will put it right for you <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" />

I've done something similar to a BUST I paid $200 for and had to then pay $120 to have it repainted. I'd say bite the bullet and have it repainted... Crash may do it for a reduced price? Maybe not

I agree that it still looks pretty good, I wouldn't worry too much. Get some alcohol and rub out some of that paint. Lesson learned!

Been there, done that and got the t-shirt. I am sure Crash can fix it up for you buddy. It's funny...if someone else had done that to the mask you wouldn't care, its just the fact that YOU did it, and thats why it bothers you so much. It looks fine, I am sure you'd get a mint for it on ebay!!!!!!
