As Halloween gets nearer, I find myself at a total loss as to what I'm going to do. I don't know where I'll be going or even what I'm going to go as or if I'm going to bother dressing up at all. Anyone else having these problems?

I dont go out for halloween. We dress up and make the garage scary and wait for all the kids. The familys around here love it. If you are able try doing that, it's great to see the kids and parents have fun.Tom <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />

Me, my brother, and a neighborhood friend used to stand out in our yard and scare kids on Halloween. This year, due to my brother having a child and me only owning display pieces, we're not doing it anymore. The kids in the neighborhood look forward to it too. They will come down the street and you'll hear, "Hey! There's that one house!" some kids and parents will flee and others will challenge us lol so it's kind of disappointing but life goes on you know. It's not as fun as it used to be.

I have a 2 month old daughter now so I'd rather have her dressed up at my parents than me be dressed up as I usually would. I will be enjoying her on Halloween rather than enjoying it for myself. I know all the kids will be disappointed but they will get over it.

CRAP, I completely missed this thread. What are the odds that the ONE DAY I decide to post my plea for ideas/help, there's already another?...Man, I agree, though. I feel burnt out as can be. I wonder if we're just not trying hard enough. There's GOT to be something else for us to do, right?Cheers,Ryan

Man I also work at the USS Nightmare( a local haunt) usually but last year I also kind of lost interest in that. It used to be fun but I got tired of it after awhile last year. It was hot in there always and I was dressed as Michael Myers so you can imagine I was drenched after every night ended. I had to deal with punks who think it is cool to punch someone or think you are fake when you are standing there so they punch you. I had to deal with drunken idiots, one girl ripped a chunk of hair out of my H6, one girl kissed my masks cheek and got lipstick on it then flashed me. All of this for 7 something an hour and the time dragged on, so you could say that kind of made me lose my haunting spirit. Though this year I kind of miss being down there, they were pretty upset I didnt come back this year but didn't want to go right from my main job to that job and not get to spend time with my newborn daughter this year. Next year I might work there one or two days a week so I dont get burnt out on it.

No way, I feel it strong as ever! All of my parades and events are coming up where I am a celebrity now because of my Jason/Myers costumes. This year Freddy will carry on the legacy!

Cool thread ... glad to see some other people are feeling what I'm feeling. I am starting to get burned out. I rent (and work) in NJ but I have a home in PA. I decorate the PA house for Halloween (lots of kids - trick or treaters - large audience , yada yada) I run a very unorthodox Haunted House, I set up everything on Halloween and take it down after the night is over. I don't wanna leave my costumes and props out over night being I am a state away...affraid of those golly gee willikers teenagers, always stealing and vandalizing what ever they can get their hands on! Needless to say it's very tedious, but I like it this way. I'm a budding filmmaker and i like doing Halloween like this because it's very similar to shooting a scene for a movie / short film. <u>FOR EXAMPLE</u>: I storyboarding a scene, setting up shop, shooting the scene and after it's done packing up and going home. There is a method to my madness.Unfortunately my brothers have other stuff going on this Halloween so I'm all on my own. Sketching, building, purchasing, and planning has all falls on my shoulders. I hate it but I also love it. If its a success it's because of me ... if its fails it also all on my shoulders. I am using this as motivation, to make this the creepiest halloween ever!

Wierd that this many people are feeling the same thing. Just the other day I was standing in the garage thinking about what to do this year and I just stopped in my tracks and asked "Why?"I'm just not feeling it anymore. I'll still do my little garage haunt and it might make me feel the spirit again but as of right now I don't really care. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />
