well they arent technically the same movie, ya know? but if you were to break the remake into the three separate films, I'd still prefer the originals even though I highly enjoyed the remake, too...

You really can't compare the remake to the 1980 original, the remake is more 'Friday the 13th Part II/III' and the originals would still be victorious. PS-The original 1980 movie did not suck! original without question. like comparing diamonds to dog crap. not that the remake was dog crap, i liked it, but they just don't compare.mike

I think the original had amazing photography, great directing and pacing, flawless score was was more suspenseful. The remake had a lot of flaws, but was also good... but the original is by far the better product.

I hadn't seen the original F13 until after I saw the remake. Sorry... but I thought it was bad (the original). I liked only 1 kill but the rest were just cheesy to me and some of the acting and fighting was downright laughable. I enjoyed the remake much better... though it does have its major flaws as well.

I recently heard someone say (can't remember where) that Scream was the first slasher movie to really reboot the horror movie franchise and "take it back to it's roots". I was like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? I love Wes Craven but BOO @ Scream! IMO, that whole franchise was a steaming piece of crap, plus I think Neve Campbell has a face that just begs for someone to punch it while she's making one of her faces. She over acts more than Jim Carrey and that's a lot of over acting.-Joseph
