I was absolutly blown away with Ryan's sculpt when I first saw it, still am! He put a TON of time and work into this piece and it more then shows. I was lucky enough to get a copy from him, a copy he called 're-jected' Wink I laughed when I saw it in person, I've bought SEVERAL pieces that are claimed to be perfect castings, show up with a hundred times more flaws then this. I think that speaks very highly to Ryan's dedication to the piece, and his customer care, I can't recomend dealing with him enough. Thanks again buddy! So after a couple tiny skims with some spot putty Wink he was ready to go for paint. After coming off of the Wastelander, I felt I could do no wrong. Ah humility, nothing like feeling like a total moron to bring you back down Wink This was actually a fairly tough piece, not that it had to be, I more made it that way. I think I restarted the paint work 7 times on him, glad I use thinned acrylics, or it's just be an unrecogniseable blob of paint LOL I wanted to try and match the skin tones and shading in the movie, aswell as do Ryan's work justice. Little things mainly, a tone wouldn't come out the right hue, I'd burn through to the primer while doing a wash wet rub, etc etc etc. Finally though, I got it nailed down and am thrilled with the turnout! However, the fall from grace did not stop there. I had planned an elaborate display stand/base for the bust to sit on, a nice thin sheet of mdf with beveled corners, and his name engraved, or rather roughly carved into it painted in the movie poster red, also I had a Crystal Lake sign I made a stand for to really set things off. Came out awesome... almost. While uploading the pictures today, I found a glaring problem, I'm sure some of you will pick up on instantly. *sigh* All I can say is when you're on heavy medications and plan to do wood working, triple or quadruple check your work, then ask someone else to be 100% sure LOL Fixable problem, but not for a while. Here's the pics!

WOW, Trav!!!!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/woot.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":woot:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"woot.gif\" /> <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/woot.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":woot:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"woot.gif\" /> <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/woot.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":woot:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"woot.gif\" /> Your patchwork on the piece is fantastic (I can hardly tell where it begins or ends, and I sculpted the thing!), that sign is like...the perfect scale, and the paintjob really brings it all to life. Hell, I'd be pretty glad to own that display, myself!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Big Grin\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />Were the nose holes hard to hollow out? What'd you use to do it? Whenever I'm forced to carve out those holes on any casting, I always get insanely scared that I'll ruin the whole face with a wrong move or accidental jerk.I'm fully unworthy of all that praise, though. I'm just glad you're incredibly happy with the piece itself and the price I asked for it. I'd also like to thank you for being the second person to ever post completed shots of a Party Crasher. I've been waiting on some of the other guys to paint their copies, but they're being rather slow about it. ( <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Tongue\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> )Great job and cheers, my friend!Ryan

It's good to see one of these finally painted up! Excellent work! The sickly bluish pale skin compliments this piece nicely. This is easily the best Jason Voorhes bust EVER! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"laugh.gif\" />

Thanks alot everyone! Yep Tommy, yours was the other one Ryan was talking about, I've been meaning to drop you a message to see it, Ryan mentioned you did a bronzed finish and man it looks cool! I could see this piece with so many different finishes, a marbled finish I think would look pretty awesome! Thanks so much Ryan, I'm glad you approve of the paint! Cool to see your work as it evolves eh? Wink I love the sign with the piece, I got that from Bull years ago, and have been trying to do something special with it since. The nose holes weren't bad at all, I'm pretty used to carving up resin, and hard materials like that though. First few times I was paranoid I'd destroy the piece, but you'd be surprised how much roughness this stuff can stand up to. Typically, for holes like the nose I'll use a drill bit a couple sizes smaller, and just twist it around by hand, usually does the trick beautifully, if not I go to the dremel WinkGotta argue with you on one point, you deffinitely earned the praise man, this is a beautiful piece!
