I painted up my Obi Wan Kenobi life size bust that had been sitting on the project shelf for quite some time now.

I wanted to get some practice in with dealing with realistic skin tones which I find to be the hardest thing to capture. Bringing the resin to life can be difficult especially on us humans.

I airbrushed the the base coats & finished with dry/wet brush technique to get the look of old sun burnt weathered skin.

I absolutely dislike painted hair so he will definitely get a hood in the future.
I have a few more similar life size bust projects to paint up & this was my practice bust.

Thanks for all the positive comments on the paint up.
I always tend to paint my own stuff to keep the costs down on projects.

To capture the skin tones correctly I had to use a multi layered paint job.
If lips are not painted with the correct tone they will tend to look like make up.

I have a Luke Skywalker bust that is sitting on the project shelf which I want to use as a bookend to this one.
On the Luke bust I painfully removed the hair to make him bald for a wig & sculpted ears.
This ended up being a lot of work.

I think you did a great job! The sculpted hair bothers me, too, but my focus is drawn right to the center of the face and the eyes so I wouldn't worry about it. Everything generally blends really well.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Ryan

Yeah man, you did do a real nice job.
I agree with you guys about sculpted hair... Is this a Howard S. piece?

That's a name I've not heard in a long time. Wink
golly gee willikers nice paint up work man, the weathering techniques worked real well, gives the impression of a jedi master who's spent a lot of his life under a couple pretty bright suns! With the hood this is going to be one amazing display! Not a bad likeness at all to Sir. Alec either, a tough one to capture it seems.
