Despite my past enthusiasm for this film\'s updates, I am officially concerned.

It sounds like they are blinding the fans by throwing in some familiar faces and calling this a "sequel" and creating their own crappy mystery film, while at the same time cashing in on the "Texas Chainsaw" name AS WELL as the "3D" slapped on the title.

I know it\'s early to judge, and I\'m sure the movie is still going through re-writes. But I\'m predicting the path this is going. 3D flying limbs and body parts, which is not what we need, all tied into a forced mediocre plot line that thinks it\'s bigger than it is.Most of you will say, \'well what the hell did you expect out of a modern Hollywood remake?\' but what is that supposed to mean? That we are supposed to settle with them raping our favorite films? Settle with them making forgettable, abhorrent cinematic trash? The genre has gotten no respect over the past years, and I think it\'s time someone brings some class.

I ask myself (and all of you), what exactly is a film anymore?

Hmmm, i was liking what i read until it got to the "is it them" come back stuff. Who am i kiding...ill be there with bells on.

Tom, it\'s not about plot. It\'s about execution.

Hooper\'s was a film not invested in plot, but invested in artistic direction and emotional terror. Deranged, macabre.

Just read your blog, very nice! I hear ya, but ok, lets say leatherface walks back to the house telling drayton what happened, now what...the hitchhiker is dead,girl got away, and a truckdriver saw everything. Do they pack up or stay and hope more kids come to be bbq? Im not being a jerk right now(once again, i liked what you wrote) but like the others, it would just be the same thing again. Kids take a road trip, go to the house, find the bad guys, dead.

No Tom, instead, 35 years should pass and his morbid cousin who he\'s never known should look for him as he supposedly kills again...

My biggest question is, if they were going to modernize it and kill off the entire family besides Leatherface, why the f**k are they making it a sequel to Hooper\'s? Why not just make there OWN movie with a different title and killer?

Because the title sells...

I do have a vision of the intro driven into my head so deep. After the "chainsaw dance" Leatherface would walk back (you\'d hear the chainsaw engine shutting off from inactivity). It would be one single long shot of him limping all the way back inside that would stop following him when the house is perfectly in frame as he walks into the house and closes the door. Then it would black out. No music/score for the entire shot.

After that, they can cut to as many years later as they\'d like.
