I know this post will probably get me bashed, but I have to ask. How is it that so many of you have no problem waiting months and months, even longer for masks to be painted?

I\'m still relatively new to this whole collecting thing. I\'ve been at it for about a year. I have recieved as many as 5 and 6 masks from some mask-makers during that time. I\'m still waiting on the first mask from others.

I understand that quality takes time. But I\'m starting to think that some of these people are taking me for a ride. They seem offended by an email asking for a time-frame. I will admit that I am not the most patient person, but 8 weeks to paint a mask?

Maybe it\'s the fact that I was burned in an internet deal more than a year ago. I have two lawyers still working on that mess. Trust is out the window for me. Which sucks cause I love collecting. But doesn\'t THE WAIT get to anyone else.

    Or is it just me?

well its not jsut your mask the maker is doing he may have over 30-40 orders ahead of u and there painted n order i know jsutin use to do mask in sets o 10 so if ur like 30 on a list of diehards and he is doing the set of lets say 1-10 then u got a while to wait casue after that set of diehards he does a different mask..but when u have as many products as some guys and many orders of each its a wait

I\'ve said this before in this hobby waiting just goes hand in hand with collecting independant made masks if you can\'t handle the wait then you need to find another hobby

You seem to complain about wait a lot. And I am assuming this is mainly geared towards your Psycho? Well, best time to start complaining is when you have waited long passed the waiting time. Remember on a piece like Psycho you PRE ordered, and also the real time to get upset it when you start noticing noone else recieving there orders which in this case isn\'t the case. Now, I don\'t know the situation pertaining to your other masks but if its from a respectable mask maker dont\' worry. If you make a big scene about the wait, then get the mask and love it you look like a dick. Not that your a dick, I am just saying.

Well, kinda like VF said. I don\'t mind waiting, actually to some extent if I know the person I almost like waiting cuz it gives me something to look forward to.

For example with my X Hockey Mask I\'ve been waiting over a year, I haven\'t hounded Cyc, cuz Cyc doesn\'t reply to emails. But the Corpseguy, the other guy who works for Triox does. So I\'ve talked to him a number of times and been very polite with him and he\'s been very polite with me and he assures me I will get my Hockey Mask. I really have no choice but to believe him. Only issues I have with that are when I ordered it was told I\'d have it really fast, then after I payed I couldn\'t get ahold of them anymore. Idk, waiting is just part of the hobby I guess. Pretty much everything I\'ve ever ordered I had to wait a really long time to get. A year for gloves, a year for hockey masks. Fastest turnaround I\'ve seen has been Myers masks from CGP or from JitB, or T SHirts from Fright-Rags. Hell, I ordered 3 shirts from another horror shirt company a loooong time ago and am still waiting on 2 of them. So from now on I only order shirts from Fright-Rags.

Idk, waiting is just part of the hobby. If you don\'t have anything going on in your life and all day you\'re thinking about the mask you ordered, I guess it\'d drive you nuts. I just order what I want and then try to stay busy and forget about it. Sometimes I have to actively think hard to try and remember all the stuff I have on order. If you really want the product and you know there will be a wait because other people are ahead of you, that\'s just the way it is.

Personally I stopped taking orders for my own replicas because I already have almost 10 orders to fill and I don\'t want anymore people waiting in line. These orders weigh on you, you actually do stress over them and wanting to get people there stuff. At least I do.

I don\'t know how Mike seems to make so many great looking hockey masks so fast. He must have a hell of a system worked out. That or he\'s got a garage full of chained together child labor, lol.

anyway, waitings just the name of the game. Big Grin

For starters the post has nothing to do with the PYSCHO, other than the fact that I want the mask more than anything else. I understand that there\'s a waiting list. Do I wish I was at the top of it...YES! But I\'m fine with standing in line. I have heard NOTHING but great things about Justin and his work. So that one doesn\'t bother me.

It just seems to take so long to get some of these masks. A year, not answering your emails. That would be tough.

You say if its from a respectable mask maker don\'t worry. It\'s tough sometimes to know who is respectable and who is not. Since getting burned to the tune of more than $1000, I stopped trusting people. When I send you money, then you send me something in return. I trust you. Sorry, but that\'s the way it is.

I realized when I posted this topic that I would get attacked for doing so. I just wanted to see if other people had a tough time waiting. I also wanted to hear some of the reasons behind the long pauses in mask production. I got that from MIKE. I hadn\'t really thought of it that way, so I appreciate HIS comment.

it\'s just part of the hobby. None of these guys are a major company, most of us/them are one single person trying to do as much as they can, take care of orders, make new products to keep people interested, answer emails, order supplies, track and deal with suppliers, check message boards, work a day job, spend some time with friends and family. There\'s only so many hours in the day.

I don\'t understand how some of these guys don\'t get burned out. Like Mike waking up one day going, "AHHHH, I hate hockey masks!!! Fuggem!! I don\'t wanna see another Hockey Mask again!!!"

I\'m just glad that we as fans for the most part can usually find exactly what we\'re looking for. 10-15 years ago I don\'t think that was possible. There\'s alot of great artists on the net making great products that are now easily accesable.
