I don't see that bill passing, too many businesses will be affected. Exotic pets are big business. If that bill gets passed it'll cripple a lot of businesses, and companies that produce care products for these animals will also be affected. People will lose jobs, and that's the last thing we need in an already crippled economy. There is a need for this bill, but NOT to this extreme. You have these insane people like that woman with the chimpanzee that ripped her friends face off. Because of insane people like that a law needs to be passed. It's just like with guns, a person gets shot and all guns must go. No one wants to blame irresponsibility and punish those who are irresponsible. S**t like this disgusts me <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"mad.gif\" /> Jeff-

I can't imagine what all of these professional breeders will do if this bill does pass. There is a handful of guys that own thousands of exotic snakes and other reptiles, and if they were to lose their income there is no way they could keep up with all of their reptiles. They would have to get rid of these animals somehow if they couldn't afford to keep them, and it seems that the most practical thing to do would be release them.Well, that, or pick up and move out of the country. The wildlife in their area would be suddenly and unexpectedly overcome with exotic animals.

Yep you know theres a problem when you see a burm eating a gator. There needs to be stiffer laws on animals like that, however not stop them all. When i got my permits from the state, there required to come by each year, sometimes twice to see caging, husbandry methods, etc. And to count current animals. I no longer keep that permit, just a few snakes and a few local hots, but they need to tighten it down. The everglades is a nice place, and using that as an example tropical snakes can thrive there.
