I had this Darth Maul bust for a while now & finally decided to paint it up.
It was a combination of airbrushing & dry/wash brushing & sealed with a semi gloss clear.

I also added eyelashes on the top & bottom of the eyelids & his stud earring.
The tattoo pattern on his face was a pain to map it out correctly on his face and it was more difficult then I originally thought.

I plan on doing a lifesize display with this bust in the future.
I have a few other Star Wars lifesize projects I need to paint up over the winter.

Thanks to everyone for the positive compliments.
Painting up Monsters & Demons is much funner than painting regular people.

In my opinion this character was the best thing to come out of the 3 newer Star Wars movies & killing him off so early was a big mistake.

Ray Park had the stud piercing & they left it in for the movie.

ahh ok thanks for the pic  . yeah from the 3 newer movies , the only things that were exciting for me were Darth Maul and when Anakin turned at the end of 3 . sucks to hear that Lucas is remaking every one of them in 3D and going in episode order . So if you don't mind me asking , where did you find the bust as it's the best looking i've seen of him ?

I bought a this blank bust from a star wars collector on eBay about a year ago for $250.
I was told that it originally came from a sculptor called cyberman.

I was going to purchase custom glass eyes but when I heard the price I decided to paint them myself & clear them with some high end gloss.

Awesome work right there
It was a shame Lucas had to kill him off quickly.
Then again Lucas did that with a lot of his better characters
Met Ray Park awhile back, he's a great dude
    Thanks for sharing!
