Please update us as to how you decide to display this...whether you contact Spina or not...or anything else related to the development. I think it's crazy that you actually own this. I'm dying to know what you do to display it.

I recieved a mail from Tom Spina and he's not sure what can be done yet.
So far there's a 50/50 chance that it can't be saved.
I will have to examine the mask one more time to give him a full description on the condition it's in.

Examined the mask again.
I was totally wrong about how the flap showing the sig was stiched on the wrong way intentionally.
It was just stuck to the cheek from age and I managed to pull it off.
It seems the previous owner before the seller tried to tape the flap back on to the mask. The tape is still there. I placed the flap back were it originally was.


I've also found that the mask, though folded, is not stuck together.
The fold on the forehead and neck piece which is going inward as seen in the pic is keeping the mask from unfolding. The main facial area is still soft.

That is fantastic news to hear, that might just be the saving grace for the piece. As long as it can be stretched out and unfolded to where it should be, I'd imagine restoration is very possible. Got my fingers crossed for ya man, I would REALLY love to see this back to it's full glory, and properly taken care of!

looking at the condition of this mask compared to a lot of the stuff I've seen Tom work his magic on I'd say it's not going to be a problem for him the bonus is it's pretty much compete so it's hopefully just a case of getting the shape back to how it should be and fixing it to a perminant display head to keep it safe and in good shape for years to come.

you could also go down the road of getting Tom sculpt you a custom head for underneath the mask and get those lovely teeth showing

Just talked to Tom thru e-mail.
I will try to have this sent off to Tom sometime this month for a check-up.
Nothing has been decided yet since the restoration is gonna cost aces high.
