Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys can help me out with some business names. Been thinking all day on some names and most of the good ones are taken. So i wanted to know if anyone can help me out, I will be doing Hockey Masks, Latex later on, Special Fx Make up etc.

Why not use your name then fx?

J.(last initial or name FX).com

i think you want to stay with your name because that is what everyone knows you by. CrazydogFX (drop the 500) is cool as hell. you don't want to start a completely new name, you could lose people.

Just my two cents: distinguish yourself from everyone else.

There's already a Ruste Dog... to have a crazydog is just not enough of a "standout", ya know?

This is the business, that names could mean everything. It's about being noticed.

Go with something that is a reference to something in a favorite horror film of yours or something. Something really obscure that not as many people would get. Stay away from the main 4 slasher franchises, though.

You don't have to do this, but if you named your company something like "Soylent Green FX" or "20,000FeetGremlinFX" or something that people will immediately wonder - why'd you name your company that?

Thats the why i see it i want to have something stick out and want somebody to question it. Also was thinking about that yesterday about Ruste Dog didn't want to take away his name in a way. Thanks for the ideas so far everyone

Your business name should have meaning, or just be your name. LudemannFX.com would be perfect I think. Don't use your board name. If you're starting a business the first thing you need to take seriously is how you present yourself to people. I would want to do business with Josh Ludemann, not CrazyDog500.

J/K think about the buisness and think about the image you want people to have in your head. Nicholas Art Gallery is a fantastic name. It sounds like something impressive, like Im part of a real artist's site (which is true about NAG)

Do something catchy that sticks in people's brain like It sounds important yet cool.


another option is to make it cool, or trendy. something that would sound great on a t shirt. This will help create buzz especially if it has nothing to do with the hobby. just an off the wall, random name like "The Vinyl Playhouse" could be catchy as it is totally differnt than anyone else.
