Help Buying Prosthetic Teeth?

Anyone here know is ay of the home-based dental impression kits woud work as opposed to going to a dentist? So I would imagine they would fall under the much more expensive "custom" category. So what is the best place to get the best teeth at the best price? Or is this it?
