Perhaps Health care was focused on too soon in Obama's Presidency, but it was needed. It will save money in the short and long term, and the fact is, America is way behind most of the rest of the developed world in terms of Health care. Just one recent statistic, we are the 47th country in the world in the number of people in our population that will make it to 60 years old. We are just ahead of Iran and way behind most of the rest of the western world! It is atrocious. Too many years of hard working, low paid citizens not being able to afford health care. The horrible healthcare the military has endured. The result is many don't get any preventative care, and so don't avoid major diseases and ailments, they otherwise would have, and that drains us far more than the preventative care will. The only reason we haven't done this sooner, is the giant drug companies have too much to lose, a multi trillion dollar business is at stake if we should start getting less ill! Just like oil. Shell will lose their record profits if we go electric with our cars. As for the Democrats being so awful spending money. The facts don't support that. The most over budgeted administrations in American history are all Republican, GW Bush, Reagan and Nixon. Bush being by far the worst, and he followed Clinton, who had one of the most balanced budgets ever, over his 8 years. Not to mention the stock market, [where if you are like me, a self employed artist, you likely have some investment since income does not come consistently form art work] is historically much better under a Democratic administration, see the best ever 8 year run under Clinton, and the second worst 8 years ever, under Bush. The problem now is the US economy has recovered much more quickly than Europe. Most of the bailouts have been paid nearly all back in the US, but not in Europe. We've had earnings and GDP numbers, that are 6 and 7 year highs over the last 4/5 months. This is reflected in the huge rise in the stock market over the last year. The stock market always foretells the economy, usually by about 6 months. If the Republican's would not stall reform, which they wanted when Bush started the bailouts, but now that Obama tries to do exactly what they wanted, they are stone walling, only in an effort to see him fail! I hope the transparency of their actions in not lost on voters. We were at the bottom of a deep hole 18 months ago, now we are on our way back up.The problem you are not mentioning is that Government is NOT and I repeat NOT suppose to be big...and your also not mentioning the facts that OBAMA has again..communists and socialist ties to the congress...really?..YES!!!!bailouts were never suppose to happen becuase we govern ourselves and if companies fail then they fail...thats exctly what needs to happen for us to get off our collective arse's and begin again..start from scratch...GOVERNMENT is not suppose to save the day by spending more money and more and more putting us further into debt..they are to offer possible solutions then go home at night and not try to push bills late at night while the country sleeps becuase this is what evil men do!!!they make their deals in the shadows and darkness ...transparency you say?..yeah i heard obama say that too so where the F#@*! IS IT?..We have never been allowed into any of those meetings from day one when we should be because THEY SERVE US...we ellected him and yet they shut the doors to us and say we have no right to see what they are doing to us...the game has changed and it's no longer about rep. or dem...there is a third party now that WE ARE ALL going to hate ..its coming.J-<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEnd

They are the ones who will most benefit. The military, farmers, road workers, the backbone of the country will benefit the most, NOT non workers. Conservative administrations generally outspend liberal ones. Mostly on the military, not the care of the soldiers, but the machinery of the military, and then they take in less revenue [the only way to pay for what they spend] and put us further in debt. Liberal administrations create far less debt, Clinton ran a surplus, and they almost always have more thriving economies, meaning the valley between the rich and the poor is less. Everyone benefits. The rich get richer and the poor get less poor.

One thing I’m really surprised that Obama isn’t saying anything about…Dell Computer is leaving Austin, TX. They’re going to Mexico; and taking about 40,000 jobs with them. Wait till that hits the economy.Obama say’s that 30 million Americans don’t have health care. Of the 30 million, only 12 million are here legally! With Health Care passed, to be a US citizen you have to purchase Health Care; if not you will be fined. The IRS will be in charge of this and can, and will go up to you at anytime and ask for your “papers”. Geee, and the Obama people are saying that is wrong of Arizona Police to ask for immigration papers. Something is wrong here!

Lets put it this way... basically the entire developed world is deeply in debt after decades of buying an unsustainable standard of living on borrowed cash for its citizens, leaving us all with generations worth of debt... the U.S. is very bad off and is hurtling toward a debt crisis just like what Greece is facing at present, the Obama administration has said it, the Pew-Peterson Commission has said it, the Fed has said it, even Warren Buffett is finally on board.. we are really screwed. The "official" federal debt doubled in the past decade, is expected to double again in the next one, which is absolutely unprecedented, let alone the $5 trillion the govt. took on from Fannie & Freddie, let alone the $70 trillion it promised the boomers for their retirement over the next thirty years, which are not factored into the official numbers... it increases by one million dollars every ten seconds, $3.87 billion EVERY DAY, and congress borrows a mere $1.5 billion every day to try to pay off the interest alone, which is constantly capitalizing... investors know this, thats why they are flipping out over the past few days over this Greek debt issue... its a matter of time before the same problem is at our door step, unfortunately. Expect it to get worse, and for the love of god, buy some gold if you can afford to before a currency crisis hits.

I'm not totally for Bush...I'm a libertarian. http://www.lp.org/Obama and his cabinet have stated, in there own words that they want to fundamentally change the economic system, basically crash it. Redistribute the wealth.if you think Greece is bad, California is worse than they are and is going to collapse shortly. I can see a bailout coming.
