Hey everyone... it's been a really somber morning for me because I found out today that a good work-friend of mine was killed tragically on Saturday evening when a driver in a car pulled out in front of his motorcycle and killed him instantly. He was not wearing a helmet. My heart is broken at his loss and he leaves behind a wife and 4 very young children. I just wanted to remind everyone that if you yourself or if you know someone who rides a motorcycle, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember or remind them to wear a helmet. It doesn't gaurantee survival but my friend's fatal injuries were to his head and a helmet would have increased his likelihood of survival. Don't become another statistic. Protect yourself and those who love you by wearing your protective gear when riding your bikes. Don't put them through this avoidable pain...Also... to those of us who drive regular cars. PLEASE watch for motorcyles more closely. Someone's life depends on it.Thanks for your consideration.

It was biketober fest this past week and I agree we all need to look out for bikers.

Loud pipes and helmets save lives! I live in PA and they passed the no helmet law about 2 years ago. I think it is one of the most ridiculous things ever.I ride a Harley and granted I only wear a shell style helmet but it's at least something. I also owned a Yamaha 2004 R6 and also had on a helmet.Sorry to hear about your buddy man. I also lost a friend last year do to the fact he wasn't wearing a helmet.

Thats terrible Mark. I am very sorry for your pain and loss of your friend. Its tragic that these awful things happen in life sometimes. It kind of shakes us up and makes us appreciate what we have. My girlfriend wants to buy and ride a motorbike next year and I am worried about it because no matter how good you are on one, they are still pretty dangerous. Sorry to hear that sad news. Best wishes to you and his family.

I'm just shocked at this news. One second you're vibrant and healthy and the next second you're gone. Life can be cruel sometimes. This is my third co-worker that I've lost in the last 2 years. All three were under 45 years of age. While it doesn't make sense to me now... I can at least have the faith that God needed them more than we did. While my personal faith comforts me with understanding of what happens after this life, the temporal separation that comes with death is utterly horrendous.

Yeah that sucks, motorcycles are too dangerous because you can't trust other people. I used to ride them back in the day. I am also in PA Columbia County, small world! I go to Scranton once in awhile, about 60 miles from here.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Mark. ALL motorcycle drivers need to wear helmets even if you aren't required to by law. Anybody, who drives a motorcycle or any type of motor vehicle needs to be aware of others and their surroundings. I was involved in a car crash a few weeks back due to the unbelievably irresponsible actions of another motorist. Too many people have a complete disregard for anyone else on the road until something tragic happens. Once again Mark sorry for the loss of your friend. Take care and stay strong.
