How long does the whole process take? I guess the subject can't be too claustrophobic!

I'd say 4-5 hours all together if you know what you are doing. we attempted 2 lifecasts on an actor for a film I worked on last year that starred kane hodder. I did some special fx work, created the mask he wore, and provited some props for the film. anyways, the plaster shells we made for the lifecast worked great, but the algaenate the director provided was much too old and never worked. instead of drying thick, it dried in layers and never held the actors face correctly. it's safe to say the decapitation scene never happened, lolfun experience, though. and great photos, ianfxman! looks like it turned out GREAT!

well chainsaw the subject sits there for about 2 hours with first the back of his head encased for like 30 minutes then a full 1h to 1h30 with the face completly covered with just the 2 nostril free to breathe so yes some subject panics and everything as to be done again. when the mold done the casting of the bust wich is made out of ultracal30 takes about 2 hours also since it is not just pour full in the mold but casted hollow and reinforced with burlap so that it dosent weight 100 pounds and is still solid as a rock. and then cleaning the mess takes a year <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> <!--quoteo(post=346134:date=Jan 13 2010, 06:53 PM:name=Chainsaw)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE (Chainsaw @ Jan 13 2010, 06:53 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=346134\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecHow long does the whole process take?
