Hey, everyone.I have had this weird thing all my life where I draw things I really want to own and/or understand fully...That includes video game characters, movie characters, props, masks, and action figures to name a few. When I finally have a chance to own/see/create whatever it is I want so badly, I stop drawing it. It's like I lose all interest for drawing a subject when the three-dimensional object is finally sitting right in front of me or within my ownership.Because I've been so obsessed with the "Black Se7en" and Part 7 in general lately, I decided to draw the mask one more time before I receive my copy of the Black Se7en in the mail. This drawing is more of a "map" in reality, which shows my current 3-D understanding and realizations of the actual prop over the last 12 years. The thought behind this is that when I finally get the mask in person, I'll get to see how correct my assumptions have been. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Tongue\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" />In addition, I've attached some shots of another drawing from a few months ago, based on another piece I haven't received yet... These are quick photographs, NOT scans, so please excuse the obvious distortion on a few pics:Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!Cheers,Ryan

nice work dude! I used to do the same thing, when I was a kid I only owned like part 4, so whenever another one came on TV I couldn't just watch it, I had to document every kill and of course Jason's total look with artwork-- I was particularly interested in how he looked during the unmasking, and I used to try to draw super fast while the movie was on... I probably missed a lot that way lol

ryan, don't take this the wrong way, but if you are such a great artist, why not tackle a hockey mask paintup some day? I bet you'd do GREAT!

Thanks very much for the comments, everyone! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /> Not a lot of my drawings see the light of day...I just do some of that stuff in my spare time and end up filing it away in stacks.<!--quoteo(post=355415:date=Mar 27 2010, 02:08 PM:name=puckface)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE (puckface @ Mar 27 2010, 02:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
<div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecryan, don't take this the wrong way, but if you are such a great artist, why not tackle a hockey mask paintup some day? I love to draw and sketch, but when it comes to coloring, I've NEVER EVER EVER been good at it. I can do basic colors, but as for shading, mixing, etc, I've just never been good at it.

I had no idea you had such drawing talent Ryan, those are REALLY impressive! It's funny you say you have trouble with the paint aspect, colors etc. That comes so naturally to me, but ask me to draw anything and I'm just totally hopeless. Would make for a really interesting study of artistic nature as it pertaines to brain function. Run scans while working, and see if different areas of the brain light up for drawing, and painting. It's always just been assumed the right side of the brain is the artistic side, but it would be fascinaiting to see how it divides up with different practises.
