Any ideas on how to make the blade part of one? Want to get rid of some weight on it.

What they said. Tim\'s rubber heads are top notch.

Or if not what your looking for, you could take a 6x6 or larger block of wood to suit the axe head size ,
draw out the top view of the axe head for the pattern, cut out your rough shape and handle hole
with a jig saw and hand shape it from there.
