    Honestly, I don't even know how the two could be compared. The remake was a combination of the first 3 movies as well all know, but the only thing that it had to do with part 1 were the opening credits. IMO, there is no comparison between an original and a remake. The orignials are what we grew up on and most of us are always going to be partial to that, just like our kids will more than likely be partial to the remakes...except mine (I drill the classics into their heads) lol.-Joseph

    in re: to comparing, yes they can be compared as to which is preferred or which is thought to be better. Yeah, they were polar-opposites when it comes to content though.

    The original by FAR...I watched the remake again when it came out on Blu-ray and I could not stand it. The 80s slashers were some of the best slasher movies ever made.

    Well, it's tough...without the original we wouldn't have the remake. The original wins for pioneering the series, but I have to say if it between the two, I would watch the 2009 over and over again. Mommy is scary, but Jason is the best!
