When I was a child I,d here my Mum and her sisters talking about Frankenstein,Dracula etc.I pestered them to tell me what they looked like. Then my older brother started coming home with Batman comics, lo and behold adverts for Aurora monster kits, so I finally knew what my heros looked like. Not long after I browsed my first issue of Famous Monsters. I,ve loved them ever since 40+ years.

Horror Movies Contain monsters of Pure Imagination. I enjoy seeing how different people interpret fears into characters/creatures.

Yeah I have to agree with Tommy on this one. The first horror films I can actually remember seeing as a kid were Friday part 3, Creepshow and John Carpenters The Thing.
The Thing scared the living hell out of me, I couldn\'t sleep for weeks. I can still remember the scene with the dog creature spraying one of the dogs with it\'s goop and my dad telling me that it was just a special effects guy inside the creature with a hose.

As I got older I realized I was always routing on the bad guy. Wether it was Pacino in Dog Day afternoon, or the giant gelatinous pile of goo in the Blob.
Seeing all that carnage and havoc allows me to live a quiet peaceful existance because what\'s happening on screen is what I would sometimes like to do but just know better out of moral standards.

I got into horror movies because of the effects. Seeing all these different artists creating monsters and making the most outrageous deaths seem real. I mean where else can you see someone transform into a werewolf or come back from the dead and eat people? And they\'re just really really cool Smile

Quote:to be brutally honest, I watch horror films for the escape from real life. They allow me to release all the tension and anger that I have against the world by cheering on the killers and monsters....I want them to win, I want them to kill...By me doing this, it saves the world...and myself...alot of trouble.

you know what, thats almost the exact same reason for me.
