Quote:Nothing like owning something that looks like it came right from the movie.  I don\'t care if 99.9% of the population can\'t tell my 300$ myers didn\'t come from spencer gifts, when I look at my shelf it feels like I\'m owning a bit of haddonfield and just watching the movie couldn\'t give me that feeling.

I\'m 23 years old. I had a crappy mask collection in the 6th grade but slowly went over to star wars toys and collectibles throughout high school. Growing up I used to go into a store called PIPS and was well aware of Don post and distortions. I found NIGHTOWL and the HMA when I was 17 through dumb luck... I was looking for street hockey equiptment on ebay when I found a CHM part 6 hockey mask and needed to have it! I had dreamed of a \"real\" Jman mask since i was a kid and it was huge for me. 6 years later i\'m more into masks than I ever thought I would be. I guess i\'ve been collecting my entire life but it\'s evolved to monster toys, masks, and props. I still do a few small Star wars projects because it\'s my first collecting obsession.

Why do I collect? I always have and always will. it\'s the thrill of the hunt. Developing a collection that your proud of and carefully choosing what to add next. I love it!!

Oh and the people of course....I look forward to conventions and visits with other collectors more than anything now. One of my best friends is a mask collector and he\'s like my right hand man when it comes to this stuff and anything else lol

I, myself, had become an accumulator. I tried to get past that point by selling a lot of stuff and buying new stuff. I think that is what the hobby is really about. It is more than just collecting, it is Buying, Enjoying, then selling and creating new friends in the process and making people happy by giving them a really good deal (except for steve) I have really enjoyed being able to handle and enjoy dozens of different mask from different makers. If you do it right the hobby pays for itself, old masks pay for new masks, trades, etc...
    It all equals FUN!!
